Top: Urban Outfitters. Blazer: H&M. Necklace: Nastygal. Pants: American Apparel. Shoes; Doc Martens.

The pants have made another appearance. What can I say? They're fabulous. I'd make a short little anecdote about this outfit--another 90s channeling, yadda yadda--but I have to tell you guys something.

DON'T. EVER. FUCKING. CATCH. STREP. THROAT. THIS SHIT SUCKS SO MUCH FUCKING BALLS, IT IS RIDICULOUS. IT HURTS TO SWALLOW. I'VE BEEN THROWING TEMPER TANTRUMS LIKE A CHILD. I SKIPPED WORK AND SCHOOL ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS BECAUSE I JUST CAN'T DEAL. UGH. FUCKING BLOODY HELL.

*composes self* Okay. That is all. By the way, the title is inspired by Rooney and my blue blazer. I miss the days of those pop-punk bands when they were super relevant. And with Fall Out Boy reuniting and stuff, it makes me wax nostalgic. Back in high school, all I did was fangirl over FOB, My Chemical Romance, and Panic! at the Disco. (Other bands too, but they were my top three.) *sighs* Those were the days.

Maps

Leggings: Nastygal. Boots: Doc Martens. Necklace: Forever 21. Sweatshirt: My dad's.

Short post today because I'm having issues getting my stupid shit together on Windows 8. Blecch. I fucking hate W8. I miss the simpler interface of W7. I don't even have basic shit like paint on my new laptop--I dropped my old one cuz I'm a derp--and it blows. There's also no external sound, which I need to get fixed. But it's pink. And it's adorable. And it last like 4 and a half hours. Yes.

We are in the month of Forever Alone, people. It has fallen upon us. Personally, I don't give two fucks about V-day and even if I was in a relationship, I'd hate it. It's a stupid made up holiday. But whatever. I still owe you guys a story about my life, so here's a snippet:

So, at the ERC (enclosed retail compound), they like to throw these things called 'office parties' that involve free liquor and the occasional employee dancing on a table and subsequently getting fired. Womp.

Well, back in January, I attended such office party. Here's what went down.

SAB (Strange and Beautiful AKA me): *le walks into bar and doesn't find friends automatically
GAS (grown and sexy): *le sees SAB and waves.
SAB: *le runs away because I feel awkward and decide to get my drank on
GAS: *le follows SAB and happens upon her five minutes later
SAB: (thinking) OMFG this nigga is following me
GAS: (sits his fine ass down and starts talking to me) Hey. I was waiting on you to show up.
SAB: Pfft. Shyah right.
GAS: No, seriously! I even went grocery shopping to kill some time.
SAB: (thinking) OMG he better be telling the truth holy shit

Time passes. Then  GATHI (guy also tryna hit it) shows up. He looks like Jamie Foxx. He and GAS are bros.

(I should mention that GAS DOES NOT FUCKING GO AWAY THE WHOLE NIGHT. HE IS IN MY VICINITY THE WHOLE TIME)

GAS and GATHI chat it up but then GATHI leaves and tells me I look soooo sexy. Cool.

Friends show up. We talk. We dance. I'm tipsy.

Me and GAS dance to Daft Punk and end up grinding at one point. Duh.

Eventually SAB has to go home because she doesn't live in the city and shit.
SAB: I'm leaving.
GAS: I'll walk you somewhere. (goes outside and decides I'm drunk to require him to hold my hand so I don't fall down)
In front of 7-Eleven, we stop.

GAS: There's your cab.
SAB: I don't wanna get in yet...dude, I really like you...just...come here. (grabs face and begins making out in front of 7-Eleven. Full on.

GAS: Oh lord...you are soo fucking sexy. I've got a semi.
Make out session goes on for like 5 minutes. He then finds out I am a virgin--ie a unicorn--and thinks its cool. Huh?
Eventually, I have to leave so we share a final lip rape and then I go home. Maaan, That. was. Awesome.

Stay tuned for more because this is most entertainment I'll get from a guy in a while!

Fashion + Music: The 90s Are All That!

GEDC2126

GEDC2127
Dress: Buffalo Exchange/Thrift. Necklace: Forever 21. Boots: Dr. Martens.

Lately, I have been on a complete nostalgia trip. I wanted to convey the whole grunge look on Friday. A flouncy, floral dress and Doc Martens are basically the essentials for 90s style.

My obsession with the 90s might just spring from a made up perception that the present sucks and the past is better. I mean, come on. Who wouldn't want to go back to the time when one could watch good original Disney Channel movies? When Rugrats, Hey Arnold!, All That, and Doug were always on television? When Aaliyah, Kurt Cobain, Left Eye, Selena, Tupac, and Biggie were still alive? When people cherished music more because it wasn't on the internet? When concert tickets weren't as high--oh MAN if I saw Red Hot Chili Peppers back then it would be so cheeeeap--and some of the best alternative music was openly appreciated to at least some mainstream extent? What happened to those glorious days, man?

But fear not. I am skilled at being a music dork and digging through my countless MP3s to find the cream of the crop. This in NO WAY encompasses the best of 90s, just what's the best to me. Knowing me, since nothing I listen to is current these days, I'll find more 90s bands to appreciate in no time. But here is a playlist of some good music from the decade that used to be.

Fashion: N00D + Jeremy Scott Done Lost His Damn Mind

Blazer: Forever 21
Bodysuit: Forever 21 (snaps at the bottom so I can pee without stripping!)
Shorts: Sodi by Thalia from forever ago
Boots: Doc Martens
Earrings: H&M

Snapping open the bottom of your onesie definitely reminds you of being a kid again.

It was ridiculously hot out the other day. We're talking sweltering heat. The heat that people only experience when they speak of Arizona or some shit. That's what we deal with here in Chicago. It's hot one day and cold the next. And if you're lucky, you'll get a week of consistent weather. We're getting ours this week. Hot. As. Fuck.

My co-worker invited me to a fashion show tomorrow, so I guess we'll see how that pans out. What I'd really like to do is pass out business cards everywhere I go, snap streetstyle pics of people, and get my name and blog out there. The Facebook page is now up, so check it out. Yeah. Just...check it out. You know you want to. I'll post random pictures of stuff and updates and whatnot. Sounds cool, doesn't it?

In other OMGWTFGTFOAYFKM news...

Jeremy Scott has lost his fucking mind. First sneakers with teddy-bears on them, and now this?

From BlackMediaScoop

You're looking at the Jeremy Scott x Adidas basketball shoes. Because anyone playing basketball would totally wear these. *rolls eyes* Due to the uproar from many people who quite obviously put two and two together and decided the shoes were an obvious slavery reference, the shoes will not be released.

The JS Roundhouse Mids were unveiled on June 14th, the offensive sneakers were automatically met with opposition. And you know you fucked up when Jesse Jackson is complaining.
"The attempt to commercialize and make popular more than 200 years of human degradation, where blacks were considered three-fifths human by our Constitution is offensive, appalling and insensitive," Jackson said on Monday, according to CNN.

Okay, I understand that Jeremy Scott is a weirdo. The man made hoodies with animal heads on them, dresses littered in miniature crosses, and sneakers that look like wearable teddy bears. I understand that he's a quirky designer and he basically doesn't give a fuck. And I will not at all try to act like I never once coveted his rainbow sneakers with the wings that I knew I could not own in a million years.

But come on. Did he really think people would accept this? There's a fine line between being quirky and tongue-in-cheek and being straight up rude and insensitive. Black people are already stereotyped as basketball players who love sneakers. Is this a slap in the face to black customers? Were we supposed to think it to be clever? And what about white people who buy these shoes? What the fuck are we supposed to think about them?

If a designer came out with a bunch of jackets with yellow star emblems, alluding to the Holocaust, that designer would have his/her ass handed to him/her. Know why? Because it's insensitive. It's not clever to make fun of a group of people's collective tragedy. It's just not. Some people really need to think before they do certain stupid shit.

What do you guys think?
